Every Udyam Registration No. is checked against the official certificate format
Every Udyam Registration No. is checked against the official certificate format:
UDYAM-XX-00-0000000Segment | Meaning | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed prefix | Must match exactly |
| State/UT code | 2 letters (e.g. |
| District/allotment code | 2 digits |
| Sequence number | 7 digits |
Behavior:
Input is auto trimmed and converted to uppercase.
Structural errors block saving — wrong length, missing dashes, or non-numeric segments where digits are expected.
An unrecognized state code only warns — it doesn't block saving, since the app can't guarantee its reference list is exhaustive. Double-check against the certificate.
This validates format, not authenticity. It cannot confirm the number is genuinely live on the government Udyam portal.
